| NLCP IS NUMBER ONE! NLCP
is #1 among all charter and traditional Chicago Public High Schools when it comes to the percentage of our graduates in college. According to data just released by the National Student
Clearinghouse, NLCP's class of 2009 had the highest percentage of our alumni enrolled in college the fall after their
graduation. That is better than any charter high school; better than any neighborhood high school. These
results put us in the company of the city's most elite high schools like Whitney Young and Northside College Prep - schools
that admit only the top 5% of all students in the city. But NLCP doesn't just want to be in this company - we want to LEAD
this company. As terrific as this achievement is, we have our sights set on a grander goal: to lead the city in the
percentage of our graduates completing college. Right now, 87% of the Class of 2009 is in
college and they will be graduating in a few short years. Congratulations to this class, their parents, their teachers,
and counselors! |

We now have more
than 300 alumni who are studying at or have graduated from 127 colleges in 33 states - a combination of public, private, and
historically black universities of higher learning.

NLCP's First Fulbright Scholar Gladys Reyes Takes on the World
Fulbright Scholar Gladys Reyes, NLCP Class of 2005 and Pomona
